Admission MU IDOL 2021: Registration begins for the entrance exams to MCA & MMS courses


The Institute of Distance and Open Learning (IDOL), the distance education wing of the University of Mumbai, is inviting online applications for the entrance exam for admissions to both the Masters in Management Studies (MMS) and Masters in Computer Applications (MCA).

According to information shared by IDOL, interested candidates can register between November 19 and 25, 2021. The entrance exam is expected to take place online on December 3.

“IDOL has obtained authorization for MMS – the equivalent of an MBA – in distance mode from the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) as well as the University Grants Commission (UGC) with approval of 720 seats. Also, for the former, a revised two-year MCA course is being introduced, ”said Vinod Malale, Deputy Registrar (Public Relations), MU. He added that so far the MCA has been a three-year course and the new revised course has been approved for 2,000 places.

During the last week of October, IDOL launched admissions to its 17 undergraduate and postgraduate courses. Although Covid-19 hampered routine work, IDOL managed to register admissions of nearly 64,000 students in 14 courses in 2020-21, but with the launch of three new courses, officials expect better admission session.

Applications for the entrance exams for both courses are invited online and are available on the UM website, https://old.mu.ac.in/distance-open-learning/.
