University of Birmingham Dubai is calling for applications for BSc and MSc in Artificial Intelligence and Computer Science
The University of Birmingham, Dubai is inviting applications for its Bachelors and Masters courses in Artificial Intelligence and Computer Science.
Artificial intelligence (AI) is a multidisciplinary field that connects computer science, psychology, neuroscience, philosophy, mathematics and linguistics. Using state-of-the-art facilities in the new technology-enhanced “smart” campus, the degree programs provide students with computer skills to enter industry, while also providing them with scientific skills to pursue their research. The wide range of modules focuses on areas of AI that most interest students and will help kick-start a great career.
Both programs at the university have been designed in such a way that people, even from a variety of academic backgrounds, can easily learn about AI and computing.

Program Delivery: With teaching being a joint exercise between academics from the Dubai Campus and the Edgbaston Campus, the programs aim to provide students with a world-class education. Students also have the opportunity to interact and work alongside students from the Edgbaston campus in the UK while studying at the Dubai campus. The BSc program is a three-year computer science program accredited by the UAE Ministry of Education, making the University of Birmingham the only UK institution in Dubai offering three-year courses. The MSc program is the standard international course which extends over one year.

AI and Computer Science students with 75% Class XII from ISC, CBSE, Maharashtra and West Bengal or 80% from other state boards will be eligible to apply.
Mathematics: This course also requires students to have 85% or higher in Mathematics in Class XII. If students do not meet the math entrance requirements, they may be eligible to take a math entrance test.
· Artificial Intelligence and Computer Science MSc a four or three year bachelor’s degree in any subject other than Computer Science with 55-60% from a recognized institution in India. Applicants may be considered on a case-by-case basis.

The following information will generally be required before a decision can be made on an application:
· An academic reference (or if appropriate to the program applied for, this could be from the candidate’s employer).
Academic transcript for all previous degrees – originals or certified photocopies.
· Personal statement, approximately 5000 characters, explaining why you are interested in studying in the program you have chosen.
· Certificate of English proficiency if English is not your first language and you have already taken a test (not mandatory to submit at the time of application). Students may be considered for a waiver.
Applicants may be required to submit other documents in support of their application.
BSc Artificial Intelligence and Computing – AED 120,294 (approx £24,162) per year.
MSc Artificial Intelligence and Computer Science – AED 130,270 (approx £26,165) for 1 year full time.
