RK Shishir, a student from Bengaluru and All-India leader of JEE (Advanced)-2022, chose Indian Institute of Science (IISc)-Bengaluru instead of Indian Institute of Technology (IIT)-Bombay for his B-Tech diploma.

Previously, Shishir wanted to pursue a degree in computer engineering at IIT-Bombay and intended to start a start-up company. But, he changed his mind and decided to do research in the field of computer science.

Talk to The Hindu, he said he chose IISc because he is more interested in a start-up or research. “IISc is the best research institute in the country,” he said.

“I selected Maths in computer science in B-Tech. Mathematics is a very important subject in computer science. This is the new updated computer course. After graduating from B-Tech, I plan to create a start-up. In case it doesn’t work out, I will try to get a postgraduate degree from foreign universities and choose research and development,” Shishir said.

Shishir also topped CET-2022 in Pharmacy and fourth in Engineering and. He came second (AIR) to Kishore Vaigyanik Protsahan Yojana, led by Indian Institute of Science (IISc), Bengaluru
