JAMMU: One-Week Professional Course on ‘Application of IT and Computer Tools to Improve Student Learning and Research Efficiency’ organized by Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Science and Technology in Jammu under the National Agricultural Higher Education Project-Institutional Development Plan (NAHEP-IDP) concluded here today.
Prof. JP Sharma, VC SKUAST-Jammu was the chief guest at the farewell ceremony.
Speaking on the occasion, Prof. Sharma congratulated the members of the organizing committee and the participants for the successful completion of the training course. He urged the University’s NAHEP-IDP team to organize such professional training courses regularly and provide a platform for young students that helps them learn new and emerging concepts in computer science education. which further sharpen their learning skills.
He urged the students to apply the learned ICT research tools in their own research, as these tools help in the accurate analysis of data.
In his address to the attendees, Professor Sharma shared his experiences and talked about the positive attitude, communication skills and development of entrepreneurship in an individual’s success.
During the training, 24 university students were familiarized with various aspects and techniques of ICT such as fundamentals of automated tools, artificial intelligence, web design, analysis of tool packs, role of ICT in agripreneurship, mobile application training, machine learning, ethical hacking, data processing and statistical analysis software packages, network cybersecurity, GEO AI, etc.
Earlier, Dr. Manish Kumar Sharma, NAHEP-IDP Nodal Officer and Course Director welcomed the guests and gave a detailed report on the successful completion of the professional course. He informed that the training course covered 20 lectures as well as practical work which was delivered by 14 eminent guest speakers from different institutes in the country in addition to scientists from SKUAST-Jammu. On the last day of the course, Dr. Bhupal Arya from University of Uttrakhand, Roorke lectured on ethical hacking and cybersecurity.
Dr. Pawnesh Abrol and his team from the University of Jammu deliberated on the Python language. Dr. BC Sharma, Principal Investigator, NAHEP-IDP, SKUAST-Jammu appreciated the course coordinators for their excellent efforts in harnessing the creativity and technical skills of the students with the aim of preparing them for potential future entrepreneurs who can become entrepreneurs. job creators instead of jobs. researchers. Feedback was also received from students to make the training more practical in the near future. Under the NAHEP-IDP project which is sanctioned by ICAR, students receive free computer training by SKUAST-Jammu.
During the farewell ceremony, certificates were distributed to trainees who successfully completed their training course.
Dr. Rakesh Nanda, Director of Education; Dr Pardeep Wali, Director of Research; Dr. Jyoti Kachroo, director of planning and monitoring; Dr. SEH Rizvi, Dean, FBSc.; Dr. SK Gupta, Registrar and Dr. AK Sharma, Chief Librarian were also present on the occasion. The event took place in strict compliance with COVID guidelines.
The proceedings of the farewell ceremony were presented by Dr. Anil Bhat, course coordinator and the distribution of certificates was coordinated by Dr. Rakesh Sharma, course coordinator. Dr. Neelesh Sharma, Nodal Officer, NAHEP-IDP presented the vote of thanks.
