UK university partners with Microsoft to launch new cloud computing course

Lincoln University in the UK has partnered with Microsoft to launch a one-of-a-kind cloud computing course to help equip students with the skills they need for careers in the digital workplace.

The MSc Cloud Computing course will prepare graduates for professional roles such as cloud developers, solution architects and data scientists.

The one-year program (which can also be completed over two years part-time) is the first to offer MSc students the opportunity to prove their technical skills by earning industry-recognized Microsoft certifications.

“The MSc in Cloud Computing is an exciting and innovative program designed to equip graduates with the skills they need to succeed in the cloud careers they have chosen,” said Dr. Derek Foster, Program Manager and Associate Professor at Lincoln University School of Computer Science. “The course combines general concepts of cloud computing, such as compute, storage and networking, with the opportunity to develop practical skills around the design, deployment and development of cloud architecture. Students will learn how to build and deploy cutting-edge cloud technologies, equipping them to take on roles such as cloud data engineers and cloud administrators.
